CMT for Domains
CMT for Domains is deployed and functions as a standard Lotus Notes Database.
It has a navigator and a display area, in which relevant documents
are displayed. Pressing buttons on the Action Bar performs virtually
all of its functions.
CMT for Domains operation is divided into 3 major areas:
Configuration
Environment Management
User Management
Perry will demonstrate many of the functions that can be performed as part
of Environment and User Management, including:
In-depth analysis of the existing and the
new Lotus Notes Infrastructures, specifically, but not exclusively for
migration readiness
Rename of hierarchical Lotus Notes users
to new hierarchical names or upgrade of flat Lotus Notes users to new hierarchical
names
Move of Lotus Notes Users to new Lotus Notes
Domains and/or Domino Servers
Move of Domino Servers to new Lotus Notes
Domains
Update of end-user workstations with new
information including modification of Workspace Icons, Bookmarks, and,
if necessary, Replicator Page
Speaker: John Wargo, Wolcott Systems
Topic: Automated
Deployment Toolkit
Wolcott Systems Group personnel have been working with Lotus Notes since
version 2, and over the years have created several tools to help them deploy
or manage the Lotus Notes client. John Wargo will demonstrate the
Automated Deployment Toolkit (ADT) which provides an automated, managed
process for deploying the Lotus Notes Client (new deployments or upgrades)
including migrating from Lotus Notes to other messaging systems. John will
also present ClientSync, an alternate roaming user utility for Lotus Notes;
users can easily have their personal Lotus Notes configuration files follow
them as the login from machine to machine.
Speaker: John Wargo, Wolcott Systems
Topic: Best
Practices in Lotus Notes Client Deployment
This session will present both best practices for the preparation for your
Lotus Notes upgrade and show how you can automate the installation of the
Lotus Notes client in your environment. Special consideration will be given
to the multi-user client installation. We'll leverage experiences gained
from managing Lotus Notes client deployments for companies all over the
world. (* this session was given at LotuSphere 2004 as BP105)
Speaker: Rob Wunderlich, NuTechs
Topic: Ask the
Experts
Do you have a question that you've been unable to answer, or a problem
that just won't go away? This forum is designed to help you access and
potentially leverage the combined experience of all Detroit Notes Professional
members in attendance. Based on the response from previous DominoFests,
this is a session that should not be missed. All completed surveys
will be collected after this session concludes.
